@SK
I created the buttons with HTML that I then plugged into the Wordpress template. If you want I can email you the code (let me know). I also tweaked the standard Feedburner email subscription form by changing the size of the box and the font size.

I like your social media buttons - do you use a plugin for those?

Also for your Feedburner email form, did you customize the look yourself? I think FB only provides one option and it's kinda clunky.

Thanks!

blogs don't cost a great deal of money, but they do take a lot of effort in terms of creating good content and driving traffic to them...and time is money :)

@JWo: I am not advocating to spend $25 for a logo. I'm just saying that I was able to do mine for that amount (because I already had the idea for the logo in my head).

I don't believe that there is a specific amount of money you need to spend before you can call a logo "good". You can pay $1,000 and still end up with a bad logo.

You make a good point about other considerations, like the need to have different versions and resolutions of your logo, so you can print it in business cards, brochures, etc. You'll likely have to pay for those separately.

You say don't skimp on your logo yet, you advocate a logo for $25...even $399 is cheap! It also doesn't take in consideration your printing for professional business cards, stationery, etc.

I think you miss the point of not skimping. You want a logo that will work for you - help customer identify you, work in various applications. Winning awards is not the real purpose, is it?
Just my $.02
